You must define a policy which specifies:

•that all DOI names must be registered in the DOI Directory

•who, between the Registration Agency or the registrant, generates the DOI names

•the general scheme of the suffix to be followed, if any (for example, if another identifier scheme is integrated in the DOI name syntax)

•the rules governing the suffix syntax (see also Syntax of the DOI Name) with possible constraints from outside the DOI System on the suffix, for example:

oon the suffix length

•etc.
